• Colleagues, it is with sadness that I share the news that Dr. Diego Garcia Theodore passed away this weekend. Dr. Garcia joined the division in 2018 as the senior director for the International Center. He later transitioned to the position of assistant vice president for Student Affairs and student ombuds. Diego was a gracious and humble man who touched many lives during his time at UTD. It was an honor to know and work with him. Please keep his wife, Kristina and daughter, Daniella, in your prayers. Please be reminded that Human Resources offers the Employee Assistance Program for anyone who may need assistance processing this loss. You may contact EAP at 888-993-7650. A memorial service will be held to honor Diego within the next couple of weeks.

• COVID-19 vaccines are available for currently enrolled students. An appointment may be scheduled online.

University Recreation

• Now-Sept. 2, fall or annual memberships are on sale via marketplace. A payroll deduction option is available for annual memberships and is prorated over nine months. Memberships include free group exercise classes and towel service. Lockers also are available for renewal, and new lockers will go on sale Sept. 9. Contact Brandy Jamerson for details.
