More than 315 student athletes compete in the UT Dallas team sports of baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball, and in the individual sports of golf, tennis and cross country. The Comets officially became part of the NCAA Division III in 1998, and the American Southwest Conference in 2002.
Student Union and Activities Advisory Board (SUAAB)
SUAAB offers a variety of events to promote student participation, including the Homecoming dance, Casino Night, Springapalooza, movies, comedians, concerts, pep rallies and more.
University Recreation includes aquatics, club sports, fitness, intramural sports and informal recreation. The Activity Center includes a fitness area, racquetball, squash and basketball courts, a climbing wall, a multi-purpose room and an indoor swimming pool. Outdoors, there are sand volleyball courts, tennis courts and softball, baseball and soccer fields. Rec Center West, located near the residence halls, features indoor courts, a fitness area and a multipurpose room.
