Serve the homeless, at-risk youth, immigrants and those affected by poverty in the San Antonio area. Participants will join forces with the San Antonio Food Bank to learn and serve through their urban garden, Kids Café, Haven for Hope and food warehouse programs. Hands-on service and educational sessions will provide participants with insight to the social issues impacting San Antonio.
Service tasks may include sorting donations, basic renovation and facilities maintenance, serving meals, gardening and other outreach projects.
We were fighting hunger and feeding hope. Addressing food insecurity throughout the trip, we were actively combating the issues that families face everywhere across the world and we were recognizing many of the things that we often take for granted. ASB is indeed an experience, a venture to gain a new perspective about our world and explore new issues that we may not normally think about in our daily lives.
