A Message from President Richard C. Benson
The University of Texas at Dallas - Office of the President
October 2, 2020

Dear Students:

As we move further into the fall semester and look forward to the end of the year, the threat of COVID-19 remains very much with us. Unfortunately, in accordance with University guidelines prohibiting large gatherings on campus due to the pandemic, we will not be holding in-person commencement ceremonies in December.

We understand all too well how disappointing this news is for you and your families. Please know that we appreciate your perseverance in such a challenging time as you have worked diligently to complete your degree.

While we regret that we won’t be able to welcome you and your families to campus for this all-important event, we look forward to hosting you at the earliest possible date in a celebration filled with our UT Dallas traditions.

Best wishes, graduates. And congratulations on your academic achievements!

Sincerely,
