A Message from President Richard C. Benson

Dear UT Dallas Community:
With the first two weeks of the new semester in the rearview mirror, I want to commend our fellow Comets on their flexibility, perseverance and positive attitudes that have made the start of school exceptionally smooth. While masks and distancing may make campus look and feel differently, the essence of our University still shines bright.
It hardly seems possible that the Labor Day weekend is coming up. I know I am just as ready as you are to socialize and be in the physical presence of friends and family, but I also know caution is required. Please remember that our choices outside the structure of school will determine the course of the rest of the semester. Continue to wear your masks, practice social distancing, avoid crowds and wash your hands often. We are each responsible for the health and well-being of each other.
Check in often to our COVID-19 website, where you will find all kinds of helpful information — from latest policy updates to confirmed cases on campus to FAQs.
Thank you all — students, faculty and staff — for everything you do for UT Dallas. Let us remain Comets United in our efforts to care for each other.
Whoosh!
Sincerely,
Richard C. Benson
