Make a Gift to UT Dallas
What Makes a Good University Great?
You do! All UT Dallas benefactors share one important reward for their support of the university: the personal satisfaction of making an investment in human potential. UT Dallas’ finest achievements have been made possible by individuals who have made a choice to add value to the university today while preparing for a brighter tomorrow.
It was through the vision and commitment of local industrialists that the Graduate Research Center of the Southwest was formed in the early 1960s. In 1969, this Center was the core of what became The University of Texas at Dallas. The vision and commitment of these individuals established the tradition of philanthropy that exists today at UT Dallas.
With less than half of the university’s annual operating budget coming from State assistance, UT Dallas relies heavily on the support of alumni, friends, corporations, and foundations in meeting the needs of a growing university. Private support for scholarships and professorships gives UT Dallas the required advantage needed when recruiting top scholars and renowned faculty. Philanthropic support from alumni impacts the quality of education and the caliber of the institution since one component of a university's ranking is based on alumni support.
Just as UT Dallas grew from the visions of a few businessmen, today the university continues to advance in part by the enthusiastic involvement of corporations that share in research, curriculum development to meet changing needs in the workplace, co-op and internship opportunities, and the exchange of talent that benefits business/industry and the university.
