UT Dallas Compact with Texans

The University of Texas at Dallas’ compact with the citizens of Texas is to sustain the course that has brought the university to the nationally emergent position that it now has.

This pledge is made in the context that over 33 percent of the Texas gross state product is produced in the university’s service area, and that the future economic viability of Texas hinges on the development of nationally prominent research oriented universities that can drive economic development and provide Texas’ students with top-tier education—now essentially capped at UT Austin and Texas A&M.

The university’s compact with the citizens is to seize our opportunities and overcome the challenges that face the university in the coming years.
