Lt. Dorsey is the Commander of the Support Services Division. His oversight includes our Police Communications/911 Center, Crime Prevention, Police Technology, Events Management, and Equipment Control. Lt. Dorsey is also the liaison for the police complex. Lt. Dorsey has oversight over the 6 Public Safety Officer Guards at the Callier Dallas Center and the Center for Brain Health and serves as the police liaison to those satellite UT Campuses.

He joined the UT Dallas Police Department in 2008. He worked for the Allen Police Department for 22 years and has also worked at both the Richardson and Murphy Police Departments. He has a lengthy background in Community Relations. He has been instrumental with Police Explorers, National Night Out, and other community programs. He is a past president of the Texas Law Enforcement Explorer Advisor Association. He is a long time member of the Texas Crime Prevention Association, and is a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist. Lt. Dorsey earned his B.S. degree at Texas A&M University – Commerce.

Lt. Dorsey is a strong supporter of community policing and strong crime prevention programs. He makes several presentations to both student and staff groups on crime prevention each year. Lt. Dorsey is also the Police Training Coordinator and training liaison to the Office of the Director of Police which is required to maintain police training records in accordance with state law.
