Graduate Advising
Faculty Advisors
Graduate advising occurs at the department level by faculty advisors. These are regular faculty members in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM). Their role is to help students with career planning and to serve as academic mentors (they are often not, however, up on the technicalities of UT Dallas requirements). Students should partner with both the faculty advisor and the academic advisor. Below is a list of faculty advisors for each major in NSM.
Major | UG Faculty Advisor | GR Faculty Advisor |

Actuarial Science | Dr. Natalia Humphreys | Dr. Wenyi Lu |
Biochemistry | Dr. Sheena D’Arcy | |

Fast Track Programs
Undergraduate students in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics may apply for the fast track program in their majors. For example, if you are a physics major you may apply to the physics fast track program. See the catalog page and schedule a meeting with an advisor now.
Benefits of Fast Track
- If accepted into the program, undergraduates can take up to 15 hours of graduate level coursework.
- If accepted into the program, undergraduates will not have to take the Graduate Records Exam.
