UT Dallas Employees

A flash mob of UT Dallas staff members broke into dance during Welcome Week 2013.

UT Dallas is among the best universities to work for in the nation, according to a September report by Glassdoor, an online career site where people share information about their places of employment.

The University ranked 11th in a survey based on staff and faculty feedback from September 2012 to September 2013.

Five other Texas universities also made the top 25 ranking: Texas Tech (1), The University of Texas at Austin (4), The University of Texas at San Antonio (10), Rice University (15) and Texas A&M University (24).

“This insiders’ ranking is particularly interesting as it is an indication of how our faculty and staff feel about working here. Our employees are essential to our overall success as a university, and they truly make UT Dallas a great place,” said President David E. Daniel.

UT Dallas faculty and staff gave the University an average ranking of 4.2 out of 5, indicating that in general, employees are “very satisfied.”

Employees at many of the highest-rated universities cited research opportunities they’re encouraged to pursue; a strong ethical culture; an environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance; and professional development.

“One of the most valuable experiences I ever had was in UTD, where I got the opportunity to learn and explore my talents,” one faculty member commented at Glassdoor.
