Robotics, chess, solar cars, sports, the stock market and theater are a few of the topics K-12 students will be exploring this summer at more than 20 summer camps at UT Dallas.

The camps provide opportunities for students to learn and engage in specific interest areas and to become acquainted with the UT Dallas campus.

“The University offers summer experiences for students of all ages and many different interests,” said Raul Hinojosa, director of Community Engagement at UT Dallas. “Summer camps provide students the opportunity to extend their learning after the school year ends and to visit our campus. Our summer experiences are a fun way to challenge students and keep them actively engaged in learning.”

A host of academic camps offer challenges for middle and high school students, including sessions focusing on computer science, building a solar-powered car, forensic science and hands-on marketing and business projects.

For younger kids looking to stretch their minds and talents during the summer, chess and robotics sessions are offered, as well as acting, dance, singing and theater.

UT Dallas’s Callier Center for Communication Disorders offers several opportunities for children dealing with articulation and communication issues, as well as autism spectrum disorders. Speech and listening sessions assist children who have cochlear implants.

With a number of new residential buildings on campus, UT Dallas has expanded its residential summer camps, giving children a chance to immerse themselves in career possibilities, sports and other areas.

The University’s top-notch athletic facilities and members of UT Dallas’ athletic staff will serve up fun and new skills to young athletes interested in baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball during several sports camps.
