The University of Texas at Dallas is canceling classes and labs beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27,  through Saturday evening, Feb. 28. University operations remain open and essential personnel are expected to report or remain in place. The Preview Friday event for transfer students is canceled. The following events are still scheduled to take place: Debate tournament and the McDermott Scholars recruitment event.

The McDermott Library will remain open Friday (closing at midnight) and Saturday (8 a.m. to midnight).

The Activity Center and Recreation Center West will stay open until 8 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, the Activity Center will remain closed. Recreation Center West will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The Student Union dining hall, Comet Café and The Pub will remain open until 2 p.m. for lunch service.  

The following retail outlets on campus are closed: Einstein’s Bagels in Parking Structure 3, Jason’s Deli and Coffee Corner in the Jindal School, the bookstore, the bookstore coffee shop and the Tech Store in the Visitor Center and Novel Brew in the McDermott Library.

Dining Hall West and C-Store/Papa John’s will maintain their normal hours.

The Comet Cruiser (UTD 883 bus route) will have service until 6 p.m. Friday.

The Career Center will close at 3 p.m. Friday.

The theater performance of  "Doom McCoy and the Death Nugget" and the opening reception for the art exhibition Love Us For Good scheduled for Friday evening have been canceled.

The Meteor Theater's Friday showing of Interstellar has been postponed. It will be rescheduled.
