University Mourns the Loss of Edward Ackerman, Longtime Supporter
Edward M. Ackerman
Edward M. Ackerman, who helped establish the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas, died Saturday at age 88.
His support of the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies during the past decade provided the foundation that will ensure the perpetuation of the center’s ability to pursue its teaching commitment.
The Ackerman Center serves students and members of the entire region by teaching both the history and the legacy of the Holocaust. By educating the current generation, the center shapes the ways in which the Holocaust will be taught to future generations.
Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Temple Emanu-El, 8500 Hillcrest Road in Dallas.
A more detailed story about Ackerman’s life and his contributions will be published in News Center soon.
