UT Dallas Splatter Dance

Splatter Dance — an outdoor, paint-filled dance party — will be at 8 p.m. Monday on the Intramural Field.

For UT Dallas students returning from spring break, the fun atmosphere will continue back on campus with weeklong activities that include music, comedy, games and food truck fare.

Springapalooza, set for Monday through Saturday, is an annual post-spring break celebration sponsored by the Student Union and Activities Advisory Board (SUAAB).

The festivities help make the week fun for students easing back into classes, said Jonathan “GNO” White, SUAAB adviser and assistant director of student life programs.

“Springapalooza continues some of the antics of spring break, but also provides a buffer between all the serious studying and year-end finals that will be coming up soon,” White said.

Comet-CON returns on Friday, with movie screenings, lectures, gaming and a talk by Christopher Sabat, voice actor from the Dragon Ball Z series.

Another popular Springapalooza event is Splatter Dance — an outdoor, paint-filled dance party Monday on the Intramural Field. Six paint cannons will spray dancers every 15 minutes as a DJ keeps the music going throughout the evening.

Parks and Recreation star Retta will headline this year’s Big Bad Comedy Show, along with opener Prashanth Venkataramanujam, on Tuesday.

An outdoor concert Thursday will feature rap artist Topic, music by DJ Sober and the band Body Language.
