His off-Broadway bio-musical, Blind Lemon Blues, received nominations for Best Director, Best Choreographer, Best Ensemble and Best Musical Production of the Year.  He was nominated alongside director and choreographer Susan Stroman, as well as his co-playwright, Dr. Alan Govenar, who received his doctorate in humanities from UT Dallas.

Akin Babatunde

Akin Babatunde’s bio-musical Blind Lemon Blues was an off-Broadway success.

Babatunde says of All My Sons, “The students who are a part of this production have risen to heights and depths that I am truly proud to be witnessing. The experience for me has been so rewarding because it has given me the platform to share my experiences as an artist. It is magical to watch their faces as I share and lecture on the tools of the craft and my own personal experiences in the field.”

Babatunde received his master’s degree in arts and humanities from UT Dallas in 2008.
