The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and the Collin County Community College District’s Quad C Theatre will collaborate this fall to present joint faculty member Brad Baker’s new stage adaptation of Anthony Burgess’ controversial novel “A Clockwork Orange.”

The production, directed by Baker, will open at Quad C Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 3, and run through Sunday, Oct. 13, before competing in the American College Theater Festival Oct. 23-26 at the community college in Plano. After the competition, the show will transfer to UTD and run from Oct. 31 to Nov. 10. The production contains adult language and mature themes and is not for children.

The UTD performances will be held in the University Theatre located near the center of the UTD campus. Thursday to Saturday evening performances will begin at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Tickets for this production are $15 general admission, $10 for students of other universities and alumni, $5 for UTD faculty and staff and free for UTD Students with an I.D.

Tickets for the UTD production will be available for purchase beginning Aug. 27. Tickets are on sale Tuesdays to Fridays from 9: 30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Art & Performance Office in the Visual Arts Building on the UTD campus and at the door of each event one hour prior to show time. The Quad C Theatre performances will be held in the John Anthony Theatre on the Spring Creek campus of the community college. Evening performances will begin at 8 p.m., matinees at 2:15 p.m. Tickets for this production are $8 general admission, $6 for students and seniors (age 55+) and free with the donation of a large brand new stuffed animal for Adam’s Animals, an organization that donates new stuffed animals to the children in the oncology department at Medical City in Dallas.
