A full calendar of music, theatre, lecture, dance and visual arts distinguishes UTD’s School of Art & Humanities’ 2001/2002 events schedule.

The upcoming season, “Doubled Vision,” is built around the notion of doubled presentations and concepts. Dean of Arts & Humanities, Dr. Dennis M. Kratz, notes, “Some of the pairings are self-evident. You will find, for example, a concert each semester by Musica Nova and the Clavier Trio, our Artists-in-Residence. In November, we present on consecutive Fridays concerts by internationally renowned classical and jazz artists. Other pairings are more fanciful, such as a visual art exhibition based on architects’ visions of a dream building for the School of Arts & Humanities, followed by Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream.”

In addition to the first-rate talents of UTD students and faculty, the upcoming season also offers the community a chance to experience the talent of some of the finest regional, national and international artists, upholding the university’s tradition of influencing the cultural community of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. A chronological calendar of events accompanies this release.
