Sophia, a humanoid robot created by David Hanson PhD’07, recently dropped by a United Nations meeting to discuss artificial intelligence.

Sophia even had an interview with United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed.
David, founder and chief scientist at Hanson Robotics, earned a doctorate in aesthetic studies from UTD.

 

When North Dallas High School faces Seagoville on Friday, Desiree Allen BS’99 will have a perfect vantage point — from the sideline. She’s in her second year as a defensive backs coach.

Mike Brodie BS’76

Distinguished alumnus Mike Brodie BS’76 was appointed as the new chair of the UT Dallas Development Board. He replaces Phil Ritter, who served as board chair since 2010.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the Naveen Jindal School of Management.

Sid Keswani MBA’09

Sid Keswani MBA’09 was named CEO of Houston-based Fiesta Mart LLC.

The supermarket chain has more than 60 stores in Austin, Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth areas.
Sid earned a master’s degree in business administration from the Jindal School.

He previously worked as an executive with Target Corp. and for a real estate development firm in Austin.
