Treat Yourself at Summer Staff Appreciation on July 16
All staff are invited to Summer Staff Appreciation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 16 in the Student Union Galaxy Rooms (SU 2.602). There will be free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, a photo booth, massages and more.

Save the Date for Annual Benefits Enrollment, July 15-31
The UT Dallas Annual Benefits Enrollment period is July 15-31. Save the date and be sure you have access to the internet and your UT Dallas email so you can participate. During this time period, you can:
- Make changes to your benefits.
- Enroll or re-enroll in UT FLEX (employees only; enrollment does not automatically renew).
- Add or remove dependents from your coverage plan. Please review your dependents.
- You may also add/change your beneficiaries for your Life and AD&D coverage. Reminder: Beneficiaries posted on the old My UT Benefits are not visible on the new My UT Benefits, but are recorded at Dearborn National.
An email announcing the opening of the Annual Benefits Enrollment period will be sent to all benefits-eligible employees by Monday, July 15. After you receive the email, log in to MyUTBenefits and follow the on-screen instructions to make your selections or changes. Make sure to print your confirmation statement after you make any changes.
Enrollment must be completed before midnight Central Daylight Time on Wednesday, July 31.
The UT System Office of Employee Benefits will announce any changes to the FY2019-2020 benefits plans in the A Matter of Health newsletter prior to the Annual Enrollment period. Please monitor your University email account for this information and for campus-specific details from UT Dallas.
Benefits-eligible employees may also attend the UT Dallas Benefits Fairs at respective locations to learn more.

Register for Corporate Challenge, Help Support Special Olympics
Registration for the 2019 Richardson Corporate Challenge is now open. This annual, Olympic-style competition brings local companies and organizations together to raise money for Special Olympics Texas and engage in friendly competition. Download the event schedule and UT Dallas team signup sheet, and email your completed form to [email protected].

i Fratelli Dough-nation Mondays
A portion of all sales from orders placed at any iFratelli location on July 15, Aug. 5, Aug. 26 and Sept. 15 will go to Special Olympics. Just mention UT Dallas Corporate Challenge when ordering. Orders placed for delivery on a later date will count toward fundraising.
Raffle Tickets
Corporate Challenge raffle tickets are available for $5. Each ticket buys you a chance to win one of three pairs of roundtrip airline tickets with hotels stays. All sales benefit Special Olympics Texas. Purchase tickets at the Office of Human Resources (AD 3.108) or call ext. 2072 for more information.

Two UTD Faculty Members Earn National Teaching Credential
Twenty-two faculty members representing University of Texas academic institutions have earned a national teaching credential through a UT System initiative to support student success. Two are from UT Dallas:
- Dr. Kathryn Lookadoo, clinical assistant professor of Organizations, Strategy and International Management.
- Dr. Sarah Moore, clinical assistant professor of Organizations, Strategy and International Management.
Last summer, the educators agreed to participate in a pilot of the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) “Course in Effective Teaching Practices,” which leads to the nationally recognized Certificate in Effective College Instruction. Read More

On-Campus Mammograms Available on Aug. 14
The UT Southwestern Mobile Mammography Unit will be on campus from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the loading zone north of the Activity Center. To schedule an appointment, faculty, staff and spouses may call 214-645-2560 or 866-277-0710 with their health insurance information. Office of Research Seminar
Preparing for Flow Cytometry: Sample Prep Tips & Tricks, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 10 (RL 3.204): Dr. Erin Kitten, field application scientist with ThermoFisher Scientific, will present best practices for doing intracellular flow cytometry to faculty, postdocs and students. This seminar is sponsored by ThermoFisher Scientific and the Office of Research Flow Cytometry Core. Registration is required; lunch will be provided.
