Ceremony for Founding Faculty Member Set for March 2
Dr. Wolfgang Rindler, a professor emeritus of physics and one of the founding faculty members of The University of Texas at Dallas, died Feb. 8 at the age of 94.
A ceremony of remembrance and celebration for Rindler will take place 1 p.m., Saturday, March 2, in the Jonsson Performance Hall (JO 2.604).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Wolfgang Rindler Memorial Fund at UT Dallas, 800 W. Campbell Road, SPN 10, Richardson, Texas 75080.

Apply for Naturally Slim Next Month
Ever wonder how some people can eat all their favorite foods and not gain weight? Naturally Slim is an online program that will teach you how. And here’s a hint: it doesn’t include starving, counting calories or spending hours prepping approved foods.
Starting April 1, the 10-week, online program will teach you simple, repeatable skills to help you lose weight and keep it off. Fill out the application between March 4-15.
The Naturally Slim program is available to all UT SELECT and UT CONNECT Medical Plan members age 18 and older, including employees, retirees, spouses and dependents who have not participated in the last 12 months.

Help Desk to Provide Budget, Finance Answers
The Office of Budget and Finance is launching its OBF Help Desk on Monday, March 1.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to use this new tool to get answers for payroll, travel, eProcurement or budget questions. The Help Desk will be available weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Access Total Rewards Statement at My UT Benefits Site
The Office of Human Resources is pleased to provide your “UT REWARD$ 4U - My Total Rewards Statement,” an annual statement of your compensation and benefits package as a UT Dallas employee. The statement demonstrates the total estimated annualized value of your salary plus longevity and other state and UT Dallas benefits.
The statements are personalized and based on each individual's estimated earnings and benefit selections as of Dec. 1, 2018. Total Rewards Statements are updated annually with December payroll data.
Your current Total Rewards Statement is available on the My UT Benefits website through Friday, March 15.
To access your My Total Rewards Statement:
- Visit My UT Benefits website.
- Click the “Single Sign On (SSO)” option.
- Choose “The University of Texas at Dallas” from the drop down list of campuses and click “Select.”
- Enter your UT Dallas Net ID and password.
- Select the “Total Compensation” tab if you are not directed there automatically.
To print your statement, please follow the printing directions under Print Help. You may need to adjust the printer settings to print a one page statement.
Also, improvements to My UT Benefits website are coming later in March. Benefits-eligible employees will receive an invitation to the new My UT Benefits with login instructions and further details on this transition.

Sign Up for Comets Giving Day Training

Changes Forthcoming for PeopleSoft Tools
The University is upgrading its enterprise resource planning system for financial management and human capital management starting Friday, March 8. This is the first phase of implementing the newest version of PeopleSoft’s human resources and finance products.
Employees may notice minor cosmetic changes on some pages in addition to a new timesheet page when logging in to PeopleSoft on Monday, March 11. New PeopleSoft functionality will be explored and rolled out in the next phases.

Submit Nominations for Women Leading in Diversity by March 1
The Office of Diversity and Community Engagement and the Women Employee Resource Group is accepting nominations for its annual Women Leading in Diversity event.
Three campus figures and one community champion who make UT Dallas an inclusive campus will be honored at the free event from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 in the McDermott Suite.
There are two options for submitting a nomination:
- Fill out a PDF nomination form and email it with a high-quality, professional headshot and short biography that outlines the nominee’s accomplishments (250 words max) to [email protected]; or
- Complete the form online, which includes uploading a high-quality, professional headshot and writing a short biography that outlines the nominee’s accomplishments (250 words max).
The deadline to submit a nomination is 5 p.m., Friday, March 1.

Quenching Curiosity - Rethinking Chronic Pain, 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, March 13 (Northside Drafthouse and Eatery) — Chronic pain is one of the most common and most poorly treated, current health problems. Reminders
Annual Performance Appraisals Are Due April 5
The annual performance appraisal process has begun. Appraisal forms are available on the Performance Management webpage.
Appraisals for faculty and staff who worked for UT Dallas in 2018 are due Friday, April 5. Appraisals for new faculty and staff who began or will begin employment with UT Dallas in 2019 (Jan. 1 to April 15) are due Friday, June 28.
Contact your department’s designated employee relations representative with any questions. Training opportunities are also available to assist supervisors and employees with this process.
Green Zone Classes Seek Friendly Campus for Veterans
The Green Zone program, presented by the Military and Veteran Center, is designed to establish a network of University staff and faculty to encourage a military-friendly campus culture. The next class is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, March 8. Training topics include military terminology and culture, transition challenges for student veterans, classroom considerations, and campus and community resources.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Like a Pro
The UT Dallas community is encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle during the annual RecycleMania competition through April 1. Ink cartridges and toners can be placed in designated bins across campus to be recycled, and proceeds will benefit the Staff Council Scholarship Fund.
