to boost students’ academic
success on campus, UT Dallas
wants to hear it. The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
Topic Selection Committee is
gathering suggestions from
the campus and the community
on ways to improve student
learning.
The process is part of the
reaffirmation process by
which the University is
evaluated for accreditation
by the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools
Commission on Colleges.

Information Security
Investigates Rash of Tax Return
Scams
The Information Security
Office has fielded increased
reports of attempted tax
return fraud affecting the UT
Dallas community.
There is no evidence that UT Dallas data sources have been breached. The fraud
attempts occur when an
attacker files a tax return
using information that has
been stolen, guessed or
discovered in public
records.
There are several precautions
you can take to reduce
risks:
- File your tax return as
soon as possible.
- Be aware of email
phishing scams and phone
calls claiming to be
from the IRS.
- Carefully inspect any
letters purporting to be
from the IRS.
- Contact the IRS only at
the phone numbers and email
addresses listed on the
agency’s official
website.
- Monitor your financial
accounts, and check your
credit reports.
If you have specific
evidence of fraud,
email the UT Dallas
Office of Information
Security.
