Veterans and People With Disabilities Urged to Identify Status

Veterans and People With Disabilities Urged to Identify Status
If you are a veteran or a person with a disability, UT Dallas encourages you to voluntarily identify your status with the University.

The U.S. Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs has strengthened affirmative action and nondiscrimination regulations that cover veterans and people with disabilities. Most veterans are now considered protected under a newly expanded federal definition.

As a federal contractor, UT Dallas is required to give all job applicants, new hires and employees an opportunity to identify themselves in these two categories. The regulations require the University to keep the information confidential.

As a UT Dallas employee, you have the opportunity to complete the self-identification surveys by logging in to Galaxy and navigating to “Staff Tools/Voluntary Self Identification.”

For further information, see the Department of Labor FAQs at: Section 503 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act, or contact the Office of Institutional Equity at [email protected] or (972) 883-2223. If you are a person with a disability who requires a workplace accommodation, you may contact the Office of Human Resources, Employee Relations at (972) 883-2221 or [email protected].
