Cybersecurity Awareness Month
All members of our campus community are working together to stop cybercriminals. As we become accustomed to remote work and study, it is even more important that we take steps to protect devices and the information they access. The Information Security Office (ISO) will be celebrating National Cybersecurity Awareness Month by promoting healthy computing habits and educating our community about the latest defenses. We will be offering weekly emails, blogs, and live events on these important topics:
- Week of 09/28: Identifying Fake Job Opportunities
- Week of 10/05: Staying Safe While Working and Studying Remotely
- Week of 10/12: Smarter Password Management
- Week of 10/19: Patching Every Device
- Week of 10/26: Identifying Phishing (and spooky stories)
Additionally, Nate Howe (CISO) will be hosting a live Ask Me [Almost] Anything session via Reddit (/u/UTDallasInfoSec) and skilled ISO analysts will be visiting student organizations to answer questions and discuss career opportunities in the growing field of cybersecurity.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to share this information and check the ISO website regularly for updates.
