The International Center will be closed January 18 for MLK Day. No advising or processing services will be available. Please plan accordingly We will re-open on January 19, 2021.
ADVISING SERVICES 1/4 - 1/15
The ISSO will offer limited advising services 1/4 - 1/15, so that advisors can prioritize processing urgent student requests. If you have immigration questions, join us for a Group Chat (sign up below) or send a question through Live Chat at these times:

The ISSO provides immigration advising assistance to help you manage your immigration status. We offer scheduled one-on-one appointments, group advising, and live chat sessions with advisors. You can also send a message to an advisor through iComet.

ISSO advisors host small group chats weekly. We will share important information about the topic and answer questions you have. Sign up for a topic you're interested in. The session will last 30 minutes.
Enrollment
Have questions about your enrollment requirements? An ISSO advisor will share information about your enrollment requirements for spring 2021, and there will be time for a Q&A at the end.
Employment
Have questions about employment opportunities? An ISSO advisor will share information about types of employment available to F-1 students, share resources, and answer general questions in an open Q&A.
Immigration Documents
Managing your immigration documents can be confusing. In this chat for new students, an ISSO advisor will share information about how to meet your "immigration document verification" requirement, how to apply for things like your driver's license or SSN, and will talk about what to do if there's an error on your documents. There will be time for a Q&A.
The ISSO offers advising services online through iComet. You can send a message to an advisor and receive a response through your iComet Portal. All admitted prospective students, current students, and alumni on OPT have access to the iComet Portal.
The Ask an Advisor eForm provides answers to many common questions. If your question is not listed, you will have the option to write out your question and receive a response from an advisor. The ISSO advisor's response will be posted in your iComet Portal homepage.

If you no longer have an active NetID and are not on a UT Dallas Form I-20, you will not be able to use theiComet Portal. Confirm that you do not have iComet access by trying to log into https://icomet.utdallas.edu. If you do not have iComet access, you may contact the ISSO at [email protected]. The International Student Services Office (ISSO) is able to provide general immigration information, but we are not able to provide specific legal advice. Our obligation to UT Dallas F-1 and J-1 students is to interpret the regulations as best as we can when presented with a specific set of facts. Specific legal advice is available, should students seek such advice, through dedicated channels outside ISSO.

An immigration attorney is available on campus to provide free legal advice for currently enrolled UT Dallas students. These attorney services are sponsored by the UT Dallas Student Government. Contact Student Government to make an appointment.
