New Website Gathers Information About ADA Disability Resources

UT Dallas has launched a new ADA Disability Resources website to help ensure seamless access to University programs, services, activities and facilities for individuals with disabilities.

The website will serve as a central information source on how individuals can request accommodations or report barriers. The site is open to students, employees, job applicants and visitors.

Visitor Center Makeover

New, moveable lounge furniture at the Visitor Center and Bookstore building atrium gives visitors, students and employees more space for meeting and studying and also provides new options for event layouts.

EPPS Dean's Suite Moves
to Make Way for Construction

This summer, Green Hall's third-floor balcony, located off the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences (EPPS) dean's suite, is being enclosed.

The space will be repurposed to house the dean's suite and six faculty offices in what is now Green Hall Room GR 3.104.

During the construction, the EPPS dean's suite will temporarily occupy the space previously used by the Institute for Urban Policy Research (GR 2.402).

The institute moved to the Waterview Science and Technology Center (WSTC 1.6) last week.

Youths Invited to Build Investing Skills in Jindal Stock Competition

The Naveen Jindal School of Management has discounted the price of the annual High School Stock Market Competition for immediate family members of UT Dallas faculty, staff and students. The online competition, which runs from June 6 through Aug. 6, is designed for pre-college students who want to learn about investing and personal finance. Prizes include iPads and cash.

'9/80' Summer Flexible Work Plan Specifics Detailed

UT Dallas will again offer a "9/80" flexible summer work program for staffers June 9 through Aug. 1. Eligible staff members will be able to work 80 hours over nine days rather than 10 days every two weeks.

Participating departments must submit a list of participants and their schedules to their supervising vice presidents for approval and forward the schedules to Ilyce Murray, director of employment services in the Office of Human Resources. Additional information, including sample work schedules, is available on the Human Resources website.

Computer Science Center to Hold Pair of Cybersecurity Talks

The Center for Computer Science Education and Outreach is opening two upcoming cybersecurity talks to faculty members, staffers and their families. Both talks are scheduled for Friday, May 30, and are to be held in the Hoblitzelle Hall auditorium (HH 2.402). The cost of $10 per family includes dinner. More information is available at the center's website. The lecture schedule is as follows:

"Protecting Your Privacy in the Era of Online and Mobile Social Networks" by Dr. Murat Kantarcioglu — 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Buses Go on Summer Schedule

With the end of the spring semester, the Route 883 Comet Cruiser bus service has switched to a summer schedule. Hours of service are the same, but the times between bus arrivals and departures have changed.  Review the new schedule online, or contact Parking and Transportation Services for more information.

June 17 — Find out what to do in the event of a campus emergency at the Disaster Preparedness Lunch and Learn hosted by the UT Dallas Wellness Committee from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 17 in the Student Union Galaxy Rooms B and C (SU 2.602). The event will feature speakers from the UT Dallas Police Department and Environmental Health and Safety teams. Lunch will be provided.
