Shopping

The region's long and treasured history of shopping began when Neiman Marcus was founded in Dallas in 1907. That laid the groundwork for the area's retail-friendly, pro-business platform. The headquarters of major retailers, including JCPenney, AT&T, Brinker International and Mary Kay Cosmetics are also here.

Highland Park Village, built in 1931, is considered one of America's original shopping centers and now features upscale stores and fashion. NorthPark Mall in Dallas, one of the nation's first shopping malls, boasts 2.3 million square feet and a brilliant modern art collection. The Galleria in Dallas and Grapevine Mills Mall in Grapevine offer over 200 stores each. An open-air mall in Garland, Firewheel Town Center, also provides a unique shopping experience.
