Individual counseling is available to provide support and guidance in achieving one's goal of succeeding in college. Any problem or desire for change is a legitimate reason to seek help. Students frequently seek counseling to develop more effective strategies and skills for:

  • managing stress
  • addressing feelings of depression or anxiety
  • gaining new perspectives on relationships, and
  • assessing alcohol and drug use.

Following an initial intake appointment, you will have ongoing, one-on-one sessions with a counselor.

The Student Counseling Center utilizes a brief therapy model. Enrolled students are eligible for up to twelve individual counseling sessions per academic year. Sessions are approximately 45-50 minutes. You and your counselor will collaboratively discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan.
