UT Dallas Athletics

UT Dallas began competing in intercollegiate athletics just 15 years ago. It didn’t take long for our Comets to make a significant statement: “When we come to play, we come to win.” In athletics, in academics and in life, our student-athletes shoot for their maximum potential…and they score.

In the past decade alone, the Comets have made 11 NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, won nine American Southwest Conference Championships and produced 10 All-Americans. The volleyball program has served up six consecutive ASC East Division Championships, men’s basketball has posted more than 75 wins over the past three seasons and women’s soccer has made 12 straight ASC tournament appearances.

Full-court press

Although our passion is for playing, our first priority is always academics. Since 2002, six of our student-athletes have earned Academic All-American honors. In 2010-11, nearly one of every four UT Dallas student-athletes attained ASC Academic All-Conference recognition. Athletics recruits some of the best and brightest students to the University, and we work hard to help them succeed once they are here.

The advantages of Comet Athletics extend far beyond the students who actually compete. Athletics facilities and programs benefit recreation on campus, from fitness facilities that help students stay healthy and strong to intramural sports that provide friendly competition and a break from rigorous academics. Intercollegiate Athletics also builds school spirit and well-deserved pride.

Invest in the future

UT Dallas has created a game plan for advancing to the top tier of research institutions. Athletics aspires to a parallel strategy for enhancing our culture of achievement. As University enrollment grows, we must expand and enhance our facilities to meet demand. Targeted facilities include the multipurpose athletic complex, baseball/softball complex, tennis complex and soccer stadium. With your support, we can seize the opportunities that will shape our future.
