Dr. Wendy L. Hassett (Ph.D., Auburn University) is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Public Affairs graduate program at the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Hassett teaches online graduate courses focusing on the topics of local economic development, public productivity, and information systems. Dr. Hassett has over twelve years experience in city government, most of those as an assistant city manager. She is the co-author or co-editor of Civic Battles: When Cities Change Their Form of Government (2007) and Local Government Management: Current Issues and Best Practices (2003). She has written chapters in More than Mayor or Manager: Campaigns to Change Form of Government in America's Large Cities (2010), The Facilitative Leader in City Hall: Reexamining the Scope and Contributions (2009), Building the Local Economy: Cases in Economic Development (2008) and Equity in the Workplace: Gendering Workplace Policy Analysis (2004). Her scholarly work has appeared in Public Administration Review, Public Performance & Management Review, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management, and other journals.
