Motor systems I: Lower systems

Hierarchy of visual areas. This hierarchy shows 32 visual cortical areas, plus several nonvisual areas. These are connected by 187 linkages, most of which have been demonstrated to be reciprocal pathways. Memorize all of them--will be on pop quiz for Thursday! [Just checking to see if anyone actually reads these...it won't really be on the exam].
This is a good example of the level of complexity of detail we currently have mapped about any functional system in the brain. We will aim in the present course for a broader perspective, not quite so detailed, but sufficiently complex to require significant effort to assimilate.
