Nothing is more important in your educational career than the ability to clearly express your thoughts and ideas. While this ability is desirable in your speech, it is essential in your writing. When you write a paper, you communicate your knowledge and ability to your instructor, and he or she assesses and grades that knowledge. If your communication is hindered by poor use of the English language, your ideas will not be clearly communicated and your instructor will likely assign a lower grade than you believe you deserve. I've included a number of useful links below. APA Style GuidelinesStudents writing papers for my classes must follow the guidelines established by the American Psychological Association (APA). The APA's collection of style guidelines encompasses various aspects of writing, including appropriate citation styles, paper organization, and the like. The full APA guidelines are contained in a book, available at any bookstore or academic library. I've included below a number links to limited APA references available on the web.
