Partly due to the fact that the RE-Tools has supported the NFR Framework before other notations, its user guide is more complete. For the i* Framework and Problem Frames, their user interfaces are based on the standard user interface of the StarUML, which is based on the Rationale Rose tool. For the KAOS notation, the user interface is similar to that of the NFR Framework -- the use of Tagged Value editor to enter information for a goal. Once a user is familar with how UML models and the NFR Framework models are created, he/she should be able to use the i* Framework and Problem Frames notations.

License

The RE-Tools is open-source and licensed under the GNU General Public License ( GPL ) to encourage extension and collaboration. The source code for the notation support is included as part of the installation package, while the source code for the NFR Framework label evaluation engine is available here.
