Dr. Murchison (Ph.D. University of Utah, 1989) is a Faculty member in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences who specializes in Geographic Information Systems (Geospatial Sciences), Remote Sensing and Physical Geography. He has worked in the GIS and Remote Sensing fields for 20 years as Manager of the Enterprise GIS for the City of Dallas, Interim CIO for the City of Dallas, Manager of GIS for the Dallas Central Appraisal District and Manager of the GIS and RS for Carter & Burgess, Inc. He teaches courses Fundamentals of GIS, Applied GIS, GIS Workshop, Management and Implementation of GIS, Introduction to Remote Sensing, and The Global Environment.
