e13. What is biomass?
One large tree has the cooling power of five average air conditioners running 20 hours per day. Biomass is organic matter that supplies about 11% of the world's fuel. It is renewable as long as the material is not used faster than it can be re-planted and grow back. Using bacteria and various chemical processes produces biofuel. The results are biogas, liquid ethanol, and liquid methanol.
