Katie Simpson's Personal WebspaceWELCOME TO MY HOME PAGE! I DO NOT KISS YOU! So...I can't imagine you're here for any reason other than mild to moderate curiosity, unless perhaps you're trying to answer the burning question of "How many links does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll website's Tootsie Pop page?" (Let's find out: A-one...A-two-whoo...Tha-rreee. *crunch* Tha-rreee.) Anyway, in order to make it easier to sift through all the information and move on to someone else's site, I've broken it up into six moderately distinct categories and put these handy buttons at the top of each page. (And look! One of those categories is this page! You're almost 16% done already!) Warning / DisclaimerThis page is a personal Web page. That means unless otherwise stated, neither it nor any related pages even begin to reflect the policies or general opinion of the University of Texas at Dallas, or any of its member departments. (Ask them; they *all* think I'm a weirdo.) Also, I cannot serve as an accurate judge of everyone's sensibilities. I think the argument of "if you don't like it, don't look" is starting to get seriously abused and misused, but I also believe it applies here. To the best of my knowledge, I have not used any obscene language on the pages which I authored (though "profane" or "coarse" may be applicable in places, for some definition of those words). There is no nudity on my pages, and the one thing which even comes close has at least two warnings before you get to it, so you have plenty of chance to avoid it. But I cannot guarantee that you will not find anything offensive during your visit to my site, because I don't know what you will find offensive. It should be obvious that I cannot and thus do not assume responsibility for content outside of this particular space. You know yourself better than I do; if you're easily offended, you probably want to just play it safe and not click any links here. Remember, they're lists of places I like; they're not lists of places I think you will like. Finally, I do believe in copyrights. While I appreciate the generic sentiment behind the wish for ideas and information to be free, I also believe credit and respect should be given to the people who have done the work of expressing them. For example, you cannot copyright the idea of Chicken Noodle Soup, or even the idea of Chicken Noodle Soup with little alphabet noodles instead of plain old noodles, but you can copyright the manner in which you present the recipe for it (your particular choice of words, fonts, and graphics). The idea of Chicken Noodle Soup might be public domain, but that doesn't automatically give you all rights to re-publish someone else's efforts at documenting the recipe. Enjoy your visit! |
