Description:
This course is
intended to expose students in a real life business exercise to the computer
game development and publishing industry. Students will get a taste of real
life computer game development during the 15 class sessions and home work
assignments. They will have an opportunity to create a game concept,
working in a team to develop a game design proposal, create a short
demonstration of the team’s game concept and make a presentation to industry
leaders in a “green light meeting”. Working in student lead teams of
artist, programmers, writers, and designers the students will have a chance
to develop a game idea from scratch into a potential software product.
Previous projects include a puzzle game, cell phone game, role play game,
educational game, and a first person shooter.

Teams are subject to
slight adjustments after consultations with Mr. Fowler. The Team assignment
is to create using methods and techniques learned in class a game design
proposal and demonstration game for a green light meeting (final exam),
