==================== EUC2006 CALL FOR PAPERS ========================== The 2006 IFIP International Conference on Embedded And Ubiquitous Computing (EUC'2006) Seoul, Korea, August 01-04, 2006 http://euc.wonkwang.ac.kr Paper submission due ----> Extended to 28 Feb 2006 ======================================================================= Embedded and Ubiquitous computing are emerging rapidly as exciting new paradigms and disciples to provide computing and communication services all the time, everywhere. Its systems are now invading every aspect of life to the point that they are disappearing inside all sorts of appliances or can be worn unobtrusively as part of clothing and jewelry etc. This emergence is a natural outcome of research and technological advances in embedded systems, pervasive computing and communications, wireless networks, mobile computing, distributed computing and agent technologies, etc. Its explosive impact on academics, industry, government and daily life can be compared to that of electric motors over the past century but promises to revolutionize life much more profoundly than elevators, electric motors or even personal computer evolution ever did. The EUC-06 conference provides a forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry, and government to address all resulting profound challenges including technical, safety, social, legal, political, and economic issues, and to present and discuss their ideas, results, work in progress and experience on all aspects of embedded and ubiquitous computing. Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to: * Embedded Computing Track: - Embedded System Software & Optimization - Embedded System Architectures - Hardware/Software Co-design & Design Automation - Real-time & Operating Systems - Application-specific Processors and Devices - Power-aware Computing - Sensor Networks - System/Network-on-Chip - Reconfigurable Computing - Applications - Others and emerging new topics * Ubiquitous Computing Track: - Pervasive Computing & Communications. - Middleware and Peer-to-Peer Computing - Internet Computing and Applications - Multimedia and Data Management - Human-computer Interaction - Network Protocols - Wireless Communication & Networks - Mobile Computing - Agents and Distributed Computing - Security and Fault Tolerance - Applications SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Submissions should include an abstract, 5-10 keywords, the e-mail address of the corresponding author, and must not exceed 25 pages, including tables and figures, with PDF format. Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors must attend the conference to present the work in order that the accepted papers can be put into digital library and indexed by SCI. The final version of an accepted paper will be restricted to be around 10 pages with Springer's Lecture Note format. Submissions to EUC-06 will be conducted electronically on the conference website. If authors are really unable to access the conference website, they may send their papers with contact information via emails in PDF format to the Program Chair: Prof. Edwin Sha University of Texas at Dallas, USA Email: edwinsha@yahoo.com IMPORTANT DATES Workshop Proposal: 22 January 2006 Paper submission due: 22 February 2006 ->Extended to 28 Feb 2006 Acceptance notification: 28 April 2006 Camera-ready due: 16 May 2006 Author registration: 16 May 2006 Conference: 01-04 August 2006 CONFERENCE WEB SITES On-line paper submission: http://zen.utdallas.edu/euc06 http://euc06.euc-conference.org http://euc.wonkwang.ac.kr PUBLICATIONS The accepted papers have to be presented orally at the conference and will be published in proceedings of the EUC-06 conference by Springer's Lecture Note in Computer Science (LNCS) (Subject to Approval). The selected best papers will be published in special issues of Journal of Embedded Computing (JEC), Journal of Pervasive Computing and Communications (JPCC), and Journal of Microprocessors and Microsystems. BEST PAPER AWARDS The program committee will select one winner for the Best Paper Award (all regular papers are eligible) and one winner for the Best Student Paper Award (only the regular papers whose first author is a full-time student are eligible). Each winner will be presented at the conference.
