Text Box: Biotechnology and bioinformatics are a collection of interdisciplinary approaches that use living cells, biological molecules or their activities to bring about solutions to a wide range of problems. CB2 represents a departure for UTD and pursues a strategy that combines development of biotechnology and bioinformatic platforms to generate fundamental knowledge and applications that can be exploited in medicine, agriculture and industry. The main objective of the Center is to fit product- and process-oriented biotechnological research and development activities into an academic research environment.
