Midterm
GEOS 5313: Applied Surface Water Modeling
Spring 2007

Due: March 27th at the beginning of class

This is an open-book, open-notes test, meant to give you a chance to demonstrate mastery of the varied concepts covered in the first half of class. As in most of the homeworks, those of you comfortable in the use of WMS may find that software helpful in completing this test. Use of computer solutions is not required, and may even be counterproductive for ``computer-challenged'' students.

The midterm consists of answering a single, simple question to the best of your ability, using the background you've gained from class:

What increase in stormwater runoff/stream discharge should be expected from the recent (last 10 years) construction at UTD?
Guidance is given below on how to approach answering this problem. The student with the best answer can submit his results to UTD Physical Plant with an invoice for $10,000 in consulting fees, but may have to settle for just an ``A'' in the class instead.
