I am pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at UTD under the guidance of Dr. Balakrishnan Prabhakaran, and I am a Research Assistant in the Multimedia and Networking Lab, which is headed by my advisor.

My research interests include Data Mining, Machine learning, Statistical Analysis, and the applications of these in the domain of Multimedia. I have a keen interest in the development of data mining techniques and multimedia applications for Knowledge discovery and Pattern Recognition in medical datasets.

I am involved in several projects on motion capture of the human body and the human tongue for research, diagnosis and therapy. I am currently working on optimizations of existing feature extraction techniques to suit tongue motion classification, and the development of a framework for using tongue motion data for detecting speech disorders.
