But computers still create interesting situations. One of the funniest things I ever saw was in the Union computer lab in Spring '96. Some guy was having trouble with something or other on his computer, and kept talking to himself, a _lot_. Eventually, he got some help from the lab sitter. I don't remember the whole story, but I remember him saying "I'm a graduate student, so I'm not an idiot." After the lab sitter left, he talked to himself a lot more, and then started to use two or three computers to do various things. For some reason, he was on his knees the whole time, and upon 'walking' over to one of the other computers he was working with, he looked down at himself and then loudly exclaimed "Look at me, crawling around on the ground like a fucking pig!" I don't think that would ever happen without computers.
