They get caught for a very simple reason: they know the victims. Yet, another type of murder is rarely solved. It occurs when victims are selected at random, when no apparent motive exists. With no link between murderer and murdered, the police are stumped. That is what we bring to you: the security of the unmotivated murder. Here's how it works. At the bottom of this page are ten names and addresses. The name at the top is your victim. Delete the top name and address, and add the name of someone you want killed to the bottom. Now make five copies of this letter, and mail them to complete strangers selected at random. Make sure you send at least two of the letters out of town. As the chain continues, your selected name rises until at last it is on the top. It's just that easy. But we've confused you. What's this have to do with murder? After all, you didn't kill anybody, you just deleted a name. Ah, you see, that's because you are the kind of person who just doesn't have it in them to murder someone. But remember, this is a chain letter. At the time you received this letter, so did 9,765,624 other people. And one of those people--I'm talking to you, my special friend--has just been waiting for a chance to do this little thing for the rest of us. In fact, the number of people willing to do the deed is probably higher than one in ten million, don't you think? One, however, should prove adequate. Before you decide this is all just a sick joke, give it some real thought. Think of that one person you really want dead, that one thorn in your side without whom your life would be perfect. Can you afford to pass up a chance like this? What if it works? Give it a shot. Or maybe you'd rather wait until your enemy receives his copy of this letter. > > #1 Linda McCartney > > #2 A.J. Emerson (Other names and all adresses snipped lest lawless folk overreact.) Anyway, just thought it was a curious coincidence. Don "he's on the extension" Whittington
