Your Ford does not work, though, and you now discover that you cannot find a Ford garage. You have therefore taken your Ford to the Rover garage, which is easy to find, and has always given you good service in the past. However, with the best will in the world, they cannot fix it, as they do not have the manuals, special tools and other paraphernalia required. (They may also have a special affection for Rovers, rather than Fords, but let that pass). Being nice guys, they will allow no more than a wry grin to pass over their faces when you are not looking. Laughing out loud, they feel, might be impolite.
