While Microsoft may have done the home PC's desktop a bit of good by making things "much, much easier for [the user]", I think what administrators are looking for is reliability, stability, and security; aspects in which Microsoft continues to prove itself lacking. What they have proved is their ability to use marketing to make up for where their product lacks. I'll turn in my badge the day that a GUI is my only access to a system.
